The album features 42 songs which were “the biggest hits of the year”. It marksthe seventy-ninth instalment of the UK series, and was released nearly two months after its North American counterpart.

The album debuted at number one on the UK Compilation Albums Chart, giving the series its 34th chart-topping album in the territory.
