Introduction

Discord is a chat app with a following of millions of users. It’s simple to use and can be accessed on any device. Discord also has an excellent text chat system with many features such as file sharing, voice notes, and canal chat rooms. However, one area where Discord falls short is in its music playback capabilities. There are no built-in music playback features in Discord. However, you can use the third-party app Rythm to play music in Discord.

Rythm is a free and easy to use music bot for Discord. It provides high quality and lag-free music playback on your server. Rythm is also constantly updating their app to add new features and fix bugs.

To use Rythm, you first need to create a new “Text Channel” in your Discord server. This channel will be used for music playback. Once you have created the channel, open the Rythm bot page and click “Add to Discord”. This will add the Rythm bot to your server.

Once Rythm has been added to your server, you can begin using it by typing !play {song name} in the text channel you created earlier. This will queue up the song for playback. You can also use Rythm to play songs from YouTube, SoundCloud, and other sources by typing !play {song URL}.

Rythm also supports a variety of other commands such as !pause, !resume, !skip, !queue, !volume, and more. For a full list of commands, you can type !help in the text channel.

You can also use Rythm’s web interface to control playback from your browser. To do this, go to https://rythmbot.co/music and sign in with your Discord account. From here you can play/pause/skip songs, adjust the volume, search for songs, and more.

Rythm Commands

Rythm is a feature-rich, easy to use Discord music bot built to deliver the best music experience on Discord! Rythm supports many music sources such as YouTube, SoundCloud, Twitch and more. You can easily add Rythm to your Discord server with zero configuration.

Getting Started:
The ?play command is used to queue songs or search & play songs from YouTube, SoundCloud, and more.
To play a YouTube video simply enter the YouTube video URL or search query after the ?play command. For example:
?play https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bZkp7q19f0
OR
?play Despacito

You can also search for playlists, channels, and albums with the ?play command. For example:
?playlist https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bZkp7q19f0&list=PLH-6I8hwjiYo4xgEJnhu1zReO6r8L-7dY
will add every song in that playlist to the queue.

Advanced Usage:
The ?skip command can be used to vote to skip a song or force skip the current song if you have manage server permissions on the Discord server where Rythm is being used. Music Queues

Rythm allows users to queue up songs to be played on the server. This is useful for listening to music as a group, or for DJs to play songs for everyone in the voice channel.

There are two ways to queue up songs in Rythm:

The first is by using the !play command. For example, if you wanted to queue up the song ” Havana” by Camila Cabello, you would type in !play Havana .

The second way is through Rythm’s web UI. To do this, go to https://rythm bot .com/ and log in with your Discord account. Once you’re logged in, click on the “Queue” tab and search for the song you want to add. You can also add songs from YouTube, SoundCloud, or your local filesystem.

Repeat and Shuffle

Now that your music is playing, you might want to know how to control it. To repeat a song, simply type !repeat and it will repeat the current song. You can also type !shuffle to shuffle your queue, which is useful if you want to mix things up a bit.

Changing the Music Quality

You can change the quality of the music that you are playing in Discord by using the following steps:
1. In your “User Settings”, go to “Voice & Video”
2. Under “Music Quality”, select the appropriate option from the dropdown menu

Skipping and Pausing Songs

If you’re the server owner, you can head to Rythm’s web panel at https://panel.rythmbot.co and click “Pause” under the “Now Playing” tab to pause the music playback for your whole server. You can also click “Skip” to automatically skip to the next song in the queue.

If you’re not the server owner, you’ll need to be assigned the DJ role in order to pause and skip songs. You can do this by heading to the “Server Settings” tab in Rythm’s web panel and clicking on the “Roles” tab. From there, scroll down until you find the DJ role and check the box next to it. Once you’ve done that, head back to your Discord server and you should be able to use the pause and skip commands!

Advanced Rythm Settings

There are quite a few advanced settings that you can mess with in Rythm to get it working just the way you want it in your Discord server. Let’s go over some of the most important ones.

First up is the music quality setting. By default, Rythm will play music at 48kbps, which is pretty good quality. However, if you have a good internet connection and want to bump up the quality, you can change it to 96kbps or even higher. Just keep in mind that the higher the quality, the more data it will use.

Next is the music volume setting. By default, Rythm will play music at 50% volume. If you want it to be louder or softer, you can adjust it accordingly. Just keep in mind that if it’s too loud, it might start to distort.

Then we have the song request limit setting. By default, Rythm will only allow 5 song requests in an hour. However, if you want to increase or decrease that number, you can do so here. Just keep in mind that if you allow too many requests, it might start to get overwhelming for everyone involved.

Last but not least is the autoplay setting. By default, Rythm will autoplay songs from your personal YouTube playlist when there are no more songs left in the queue. However, if you want to disable this feature or change which playlist it autoplays from, you can do so here.

These are just a few of the most important settings that you can tweak in Rythm to get it working just the way you want it in your Discord server. Experiment with them and see what works best for you and your community!
